Moa Technology, an Oxford-based agricultural biotech firm, raised €25.9 million in Series C funding to accelerate commercialisation of novel herbicide modes of action that break weed resistance. The round was led by Oxford Science Enterprises and Supernova Invest, with backing from farming sector investors including the Grain Research Development Corporation.
◆ The Wire takeaway
Moa has already validated novel herbicide modes of action in field trials and signed R&D partnerships with Corteva, Nufarm, Gowan and Certis Belchim - meaning the commodity agricultural chemicals market has a proven buyer path for new active ingredients. If you're building upstream discovery tools, agrochemical synthesis, or resistance diagnostics, those four companies are now actively sourcing solutions.
