Germany approves controversial French-Russian nuclear project

Germany has approved a joint venture between French company Framatome and Russia's Rosatom to produce nuclear fuel rods at a facility in Lower Saxony, despite security concerns about Russian access to critical infrastructure. Rosatom remains exempt from EU sanctions despite the Ukraine invasion, leaving German authorities with limited legal grounds to block the project.
