EU AI Act Transparency Obligations For AI Systems

EU AI Act Article 50 transparency obligations take effect 2 August 2026, requiring AI providers and deployers to disclose AI interactions, mark synthetic content in machine-readable format, and inform users of AI-generated or manipulated material. Swiss companies placing or deploying AI systems in the EU must assess and implement these marking, disclosure and information obligations by the deadline.

The Wire takeaway

If you ship AI systems into Europe—chatbots, voice assistants, generative models, anything that talks to users or makes images—you have until 2 August to embed disclosure notices and machine-readable watermarks into your product. After that date, selling without them is a breach.
