Hitachi, Intel, and Japan's AIST have secured NEDO government backing to scale silicon spin-qubit quantum processors from lab prototypes to industrial manufacturing, with a roadmap to deliver a 100-qubit prototype by FY2028 and 1,000-qubit system by FY2030 using Intel's 18A foundry process and specialised cryogenic packaging.
