Safety rules for self-driving cars unveiled

China has introduced its first mandatory national safety standards for Level 3 and Level 4 autonomous vehicles, setting stricter safety and human-machine interaction requirements to ensure automated driving systems meet the safety level of attentive human drivers by July 1, 2027.
