Kenya tightens consumer protection for device sales
Kenya's Communications Authority has mandated one-year warranties, return policies and after-sales support for all communications devices sold domestically, with penalties of KSh500,000 or 0.2% of annual turnover for non-compliance. The rules target grey-market and refurbished device sellers operating outside official distribution channels, requiring clear labelling, licensed importers, and stricter supply-chain oversight.
