Ford and Geely Auto have formed a joint venture to produce vehicles at Ford's Valencia plant in Spain, with Ford holding 66% and Geely 34%. The facility will manufacture Ford's Kuga, a new European Bronco, a jointly-developed multi-energy crossover, and two Geely-badged electric SUVs, with production beginning in 2028.

◆ The Wire takeaway

Geely just found a legal door into Europe by sharing Ford's factory floor, and that route now opens for any supplier Ford needs to fill the line with batteries, powertrains, and modular frames at scale. If you make components for multi-energy vehicles, Valencia is about to be a qualified buyer with five years of volume to lock in.
